Comcast Cable Internet - CATV

9-3-2021 - Well, this will probably be the last time I report a faster speed test, unless I get a 10gb fiber link to my PC, this is about the fastest speed I should be able to see on two bonded 1gbps copper connections. This result is almost perfect considering overhead, though download could be a bit faster.  1-24-2015 - Just added a recent test to an old post, got bored. hehe, I like the "faster than 95% of the US"  :-) 2-22-2011 - After Installing a bi-directional drop amp with active return, I finally got my cable signal to a good point. The downstream dBm is probably a bit high at 7.32 to 9.19 but rx MER (or SN ratio) is at 38.26 not bad. Upstream is now at 46.50 dBm from 57.30. I have some good signals now and it defiantly made a difference. I'm not saying a drop amp, especially with active return, is the cure all. Check your signals and figure out if this would actually help, it did for me. Below are some pictures of my cable modem setup.
